The Echo is a small dayruck that thrives in cities, when rucking (with lighter weight) to train, at OCR’s, and at GORUCK Light. It protects a small laptop with force and is a pack light favorite.

Primary Features

  • Built in the USA of military-grade, highly water-resistant materials.
  • Two compartments: one main, one laptop next to your back.
  • Main compartment opens flat, internal pocket layout allows for optimal organization.
  • 15″ tall bombproof compartment next to your back is extra reinforced to securely take a small laptop into combat.
  • Feed your bladder hose through a VELCRO® closed opening underneath the top handle of the ruck
  • External slant pocket provides quick access to keys, snacks, and other small items.
  • 2” x 3” VELCRO® on front allows you to customize the Echo with the patch of your choice (patch is not included).
  • The Echo’s low profile and small size make it ideal as a “go bag” that fighter pilots keep in the cockpit with them – housing all the essentials they hope they never have to use. While rucking, its low profile means the weight stays closer to your back, which is the preferred technique.
  • Opens flat for easy packing and maximum organization – this is a feature found in Special Forces medical rucks.
  • Shoulder straps are extra padded to carry heavier loads more comfortably.
  • Designed to sit high on your back, placing most of the weight on the shoulders and back (the preferred technique when rucking because these are large muscle groups).
  • 2 rows of external and internal MOLLE webbing sized to fit a RR Field pocket and other MOLLE friendly accessories.
  • Scars Lifetime Guarantee: Ruck Hard, Play Hard.

When in Doubt, Sizing Guide

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is Shadowfax, but it rides me, not vice versa No, your eyes are not cheated by some spell; that IS one of the Mearas. Praises are highly sung throughout Middle Earth and current Earth about all GR packs, and for good reason. I should name this backpack Shadowfax - he is the lord of all backpacks and has been my friend through many dangers. I am a 5'0 female and have taken this Echo everywhere since 2013; through a GoRuck Light, hiking up mountains in Lake Tahoe and Hawaii, into the ocean, around the beach, to work, to Disneyland, to England, the Crossfit Games (just to watch, unfortunately), and to hunt for Pokemon. Anyways, you get the picture. Many dangers. 3 years. And it's still going strong. I mainly use it to lug around my Crossfit gear and my 13' MacBook Pro, and toss it around all the time even with my laptop in it (though I toss it a bit more gently). I love how it stands straight up even on the ground if you pack it right. One of the shoulder straps is showing wear around the seam, and one of the zipper pull covers has fallen off, but that doesn't affect its functionality at all. Elvish horses don't live forever and neither do backpacks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Pink Hikers I love it! My 8 year old wants to look just like Mommy, so I would love a mini version of mine for my little sweetheart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Goruck Echo Black Goruck Echo is short and slim so that it perfectly fits in an urban environment (Downtown Vancouver). I use it as EDC (i.e. drawings, pens, and rain jacket) carrier along with TAD Gear OP1 inside the Goruck Echo. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Day Pack This is a great, well designed day pack- extremely comfortable, tough and durable, with good, uncluttered interior space. The fact that its virtually waterproof is a plus. No annoying external straps and dangly bits. Good, simple design (ikea has a very similar shaped one at the moment so the minimalism is on trend!). The laptop section is amazing. Minus points- the front pocket is tight when the bag is full (annoying for retrieving stuff). And its just a teeny bit too small to be a truly indispensable companion. It needs another five liters to be perfect- to fit in a sweater say, or something from the store on the way home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall. Just the right size for EDC, as an overnight bag and even 48hr deployments. It's essentially a sized-down version of the GR1, retaining all the main features, compartments as well as internal MOLLE for additional compartmentalization and configuration - including simply integrating an ECHO Field Pocket, or attaching a hydration module with a carabiner for securing vertical positioning. It's a great backpack for those who want all the features of the GR1 but just within more condensed dimensions. Same quality construction, build quality, configuration, and smaller for EDC or short-term urban outings. Excellent stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Love It! Like all of the rucks, the Echo is one of the best I've ever had. It was my first ever ruck and I used it for my first GORUCK Light event last summer. It's the perfect size to be a personal item on flights or road trips or even my one bag if I'm packing ultralight. I recently took it on my 10 day trip to Boston, Niagara Falls, and Canada and it was perfect. It fit my GoPro accessories as well as my other daily items I carried around while sightseeing and I still had enough room to house any souvenir shopping. I use this bag constantly and for everything and it still looks brand new. Love it love it love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ALL TIME FAVORITE BAG! I adore my Ruck Bag...I have the Echo and the GR1. They are my carry on bags whenever I travel. The Echo was my book bag while I obtained my Masters Degree. I take the Echo to work every day. They're strong, sturdy, can carry SO much. I love that they zip all the way down so I can pack them like a suitcase. They're stylish, beyond functional. My laptop is protected even though the Echo only has a pocket for the laptop I've never had any issues, even after dropping the bag. They've been to Jordan, Israel, Greece. Taking them to Dominican Republic and London this summer. Best bag anyone could own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Echo is my favorite! I own 3 Echos. Olive drab, black and hot pink. My first Echo, I got about 3 years ago in olive drab. This was back when there were lots of color choices. Now, you can only get the Echo in hot pink or black (if you're lucky). My Echo is my EDC. I use as a purse, I take it everywhere and I've customized it using a kydex sheet to attached a pistol pouch when I place my Glock 43 and it fits perfectly in the laptop section. There's even enough room left on the sheet to add 1-2 ammo pouches. I also have a GR0 that I've done 2 events in, but I much rather do events in my Echo. I'm 5'4 and about 125. The 0 still seems a bit big, but my Echo is perfect for either my bricks or my steel plates.
