When you hear that click sound, that means it's getting serious. Engage your sternum strap to disperse heavy loads and help transfer the weight forward on your body while rucking.
Keeps your rucksack secure without constricting breath or movement and is adjustable by the MOLLE on the straps. Example: While doing burpees, you may want it a little tighter. While on the move, a little looser. Easy adjustment, on the fly.
While rucks are made to be worn high on the back, Training Sternum Straps can provide reduced jarring and tumbling of your rucksack. Adding a Training Sternum Strap can also change the way weight is dispersed across your chest and shoulders. This added line across the body allows for a quick carabiner clip-in point, too.
Removable and adjustable, Training Sternum Straps attach via clasps to the MOLLE webbing on the shoulder straps of a rucksack for additional stabilization.

"I had the old sternum strap on a GR1. It was narrower and I broke the clip. This new one is bigger. Increased from about a half inch to about 3/4 of an inch strap. Probably because the smaller ones broke after years of abuse. It will probably take a few uses and washes to soften up and become the one I will miss when it gets upgraded next time."
"Better quality than the ones I bought before."
"I have 4 backpacks now and all 4 of them have this strap. It’s not fun to put on or take off which is to say, they will not break or come loose. I never have had them slip or had to readjust. It’s a great accessory to keep the load in place. Excellent quality!"
"Works well. Solidly built and will not come off."
"Works great."
"The sternum strap looks durable, but mine broke under extremely light use. I've owned plenty of backpacks over the years—including inexpensive ones—and I've never had a sternum strap fail like this. I contacted customer service and was surprised to learn that, unlike many of their other products, sternum straps are only covered by a one-year warranty. That's disappointing from a company that emphasizes premium quality and USA-made gear. I own several other GORUCK products, and they've all been excellent, which makes this accessory stand out for the wrong reasons. Based on my experience, the quality of this sternum strap is no better than the inexpensive replacements you can buy on Amazon. Mine failed while attached to a commuter pack, not during heavy outdoor use, so I can't recommend it for anyone expecting the durability GORUCK is known for."
"Functional and effctive"
"The Training Sternum Strap is the icing on the cake! It adds stability to an already great rucksack! Comfortable and easy to install and for $10 you can’t go wrong!"
