Hoodie version is awesome
"I have the Commando Pullover/hoodie and the Commando tee, both in black/charcoal. I wear women’s medium shirts (or large for looser fit), so got both of these in size medium. The fit is perfect for me. I wear almost exclusively merino wool because I can get several wears out of it before needing to wash, it doesn’t itch, it provides some sun protection, and feels comfortable to the touch. All of that applies to GoRuck’s merino, plus the garment is made in USA, which is an added bonus! Not where the merino is sourced, but hopefully not China. Anyway, I wear these shirts rucking and backpacking. Other than Tracksmith’s old release of a trail shirt, this is the only merino wool top I can find with the reinforced shoulder/back material. It is on the slightly thicker/warmer side than some of my other merino shirts, but it provides better sun protection than the others. Also, I live in a warmer, coastal/ humid environment so I expect it to be a bit warm. Plus, more sweating means more of a workout, right? :) Anyway, the only reason I am giving these a 4/5 star is because (1. ) the hoodie isn’t offered anymore, (2. ) I wish there were more colors, (3. ) I wish they offered it in women’s fit, and (4. ) I wish there were better color options (I would love brighter colors especially for things like search & rescue, better visibility while backpacking/hiking, etc)."

Unlike Humpty Dumpty
"I wear this shirt almost all the time. When I’m not wearing it, I’m wearing the short sleeve version. Unlike Humpty Dumpty with all the king's horses and all the king's men, if Goruck products need repair, SCARS will put them back together again."

I've owned the black version
"I've owned the black version of this shirt for the past two winters, usually every day. Being Merino wool, you don't have to wash it very often, as in once a month, maybe. It seems to regulate my body temperature very well in a variety of conditions, and I've worn it on long rucks in temperatures down to 29 degrees F. Being wool the shirt can build up static electricity and it is a lint and pet hair magnet, but the pros are worth those few cons. I'm 6'0" and 175 pounds, athletic build, and the large fits me perfectly."

Warm and worth it.
"Fits well, comfortable, and great for my morning dog walks. You never know what the weather will be like in a northern Illinois spring, but this pullover covers all bases."

Like a "Second Shirt" to Wear Over a T-Shirt
"The Men's Commando Quarter Zip is a nice "second shirt," to wear over a short-sleeve T-shirt in situations when the temps are a bit on the "chilly" side. This would include airline flights or dog walks when temps are a bit too cool for just a T-shirt, but not cold enough for a lined jacket. I don't like wearing wool sweaters, but the Quarter Zip is not a sweater; it's much lighter, not bulky and takes very little space when folded. I might want the heavier version for colder weather or anything more than light physical activity and would not wear the Quarter Zip for ground work, due to concerns about tearing or over-stretching."
