Featherweight performance ToughMesh with UPF 30+ sun protection that breathes and wicks like crazy, dries with little to no breeze, and packs down to practically nothing. The fabric is world-class ToughMesh, milled in the foothills of the Italian Alps close to where da Vinci painted The Last Supper, and it’s now proven with rucks on our backs all over the world.

About ToughMesh™:

  • “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” - da Vinci. T’s transition easily from the driveway to the streets to the bar. With and without a ruck on your back.
  • ToughMesh™ weighs only 100GSM (grams per square meter).
  • That’s 30-40% less weight than normal performance fabrics.
  • To make the fabric tough enough, we use nylon (then add a little stretch). The polyester version repeatedly failed our testing and cost us an extra year that we’ll never get back.
  • Every roll of fabric takes 6 hours to complete, using 44-gauge needles. Standard fabric takes 45 minutes and uses 20-gauge needles. Quality takes time.
  • Mini-perforations are woven into the fabric to increase airflow, speed up dry time, and decrease weight. They’re small and mighty but do not dominate the shirt's aesthetic.
  • Antimicrobial treatment is added into the fibers themselves, before the fabric is woven in Italy. This process ensures a significantly longer lifespan of odor resistance across repeated washings. Lesser fabrics are simply “coated” after they’re milled - which wears off in just a few cycles of a high-powered washing machine.
  • UPF 35 (this provides 97%+ coverage) to protect your skin from the sun.
  • Off-the-shoulder seams remove friction while wearing a ruck - which we hope you do often.

My first sun hoodie

"My first sun hoodie (of any brand). I decided to try one since I do not like using sunscreen - many have toxic chemicals, and the non-toxic one I have used feels greasy. I was surprised by how cool and breathable a long sleeve top with a hood could be. I ended up buying another one and some long sleeve Toughmesh shirts as well. With respect to sizing, I am 5'4", 145lbs and the size small fit me well. I wear a size medium for the triblend t-shirts."
