"This has become my go-to for daily use. It's large enough to comfortably fit my laptop, books, and other items but small enough to just grab, throw, and go."
"Absolutely throughly impressed with this work of art! It’s essentially a no-frills bare-bones GR1 slick but without the molle (inside and out), laptop compartment, or back padding. But it has the same thick comfortable straps and durable materials throughout. And it’s 1/5th of the price! This is my first go ruck and I plan on getting a lot more! I’ve already used it twice for two different use cases and it worked perfectly. Once for my commute to work and another for a quick overnight trip. I am in LOVE with it and GORUCK as a company. I can’t stress enough how much I like this pack. Elite. Elevated. Empowered!"
"I’ve been using both the GoRuck Shadow Ruck 20L and 25L for a couple months now as my daily carry, commuting, and light travel bags. These are the perfect no-frills, bombproof backpacks made from incredibly durable 500D Cordura with reinforced stitching. They also have that signature GoRuck quality that feels like it will last forever (backed by their lifetime guarantee). If GoRuck made them again in 1000D Cordura I would buy at least two more! There are no unnecessary MOLLE or laptop compartments, just a flexible main compartment and thoughtful organization that keeps gear sorted. They’re surprisingly light, pack down nicely when empty, and the thick padded straps make them comfortable even when loaded. Whatever I’m hauling they handle it all effortlessly with a clean, understated look. If you’re looking for reliable, grab-and-go rucks that prioritize toughness and versatility over flashy features, you can’t go wrong with either size. The 20L for ultimate minimalism and the 25L when you want a bit more room. Highly recommended!"
"I love the basic simple design of the GoRuck rucks. I have the 20 liter Rucker for rucking and a 15 liter Bullet Ruck for hiking which are great but I wanted another for travel and a day pack. I was looking at buying another 15 Liter Bullet and came across this Shadow Ruck. It has all the stuff I love about GoRuck rucks but streamlined even more. At $85 it was hard to pass up and worth a try and I’m glad I bought it. Very comfortable and easy to use along with nice looking. This has a very low profile as far as appearance. I also love the fact that it has no frame sheet so it molds to your body. I even rucked two miles carrying my twenty-six pound GoRuck Kettlebell in it and it was very comfortable even though I won’t be using it for this purpose. Thanks for making such a great simple ruck!!!"
"I love the layout, capacity, slimness, light weight (670g) and the versatility. Basically everything except the comfort, which was very poor on my frame (average height male, muscular) and I suspect it's due to the change to how to straps attach to the bag which removes any articulation (note that the product photos still show the decade-old 1000D shadow rucks that do have articulation). The straps just cut through my traps no matter how I wear it even with light EDC loads causing numbness and even headaches—not something I've experienced with any other bag (I've tried quite a few brands). It's a shame because the amount of padding is great, the ergonomics are just lacking. I had one visible sewing issue on my copy, but it seemed to be just cosmetic, and I bought mine at $85 so not complaining. Decent bag and good for the price I paid but please update your product photos!"
"Great! Roomy! Use it to bring water bottles, gymnastic rings, bands, towels etc to the outdoor park. Also allows me to keep my personal items safely. Comfortable. The straps are wonderful. Enough space to add some groceries on way back! Witg the stuff I put in, works as a light rucking piece of equipment"
"Previous Bullet Laptop owner here. This bag is almost everything I wanted in an EDC bag. GR1 style, 500D, and incredibly comfortable shoulder straps (though I wish these kept the molle). True perfection would be external water bottle pockets! (Yes I know that's not the Goruck aesthetic) and internal molle (a pipe dream at this price point, I recognize). This bad is definitely The Way"
"I needed a more streamlined "One Bag for Everything" as I have been travelling for work living out of a bag for the next several weeks doing some quality control inspections for different companies and brands. This bag met all of my personal criteria for durability, simplicity, space, comfortability, and adaptability for both flying as a personal item, EDC bag, and going to office bag as well. It fits a week's worth of clothing (5 boxers, 5 socks, set of casual pants for the office and formal events, 2 button ups, 2 t-shirts, shorts for the gym/pool, etc. ), my 14" laptop, all my electronics, and a small tool bag for inspections on products."
"It's worth it"
"Haven't used it yet. I think it will fill an important niche among my other GoRuck bags. Smaller, lighter, easy to pack to bring along."
