We use merino wool socks for rucking, training, and every-damn-day wear. We rarely wash them and when we do it’s usually just laying them out in the sun. It’s not unusual to travel for a week or longer with only two pairs of merino wool socks - if you have to put a tuxedo on, James Bond, we recommend the black ones. They don’t take on stink, they wick moisture to better prevent blisters, and they’re way more durable than synthetics.
