THE LEGACY CONTINUES

The MACV-1™ modernized the Vietnam-era jungle boot, and the MACV-2™ continues that legacy with an all-new outsole for unprecedented traction and even more support.

Suitable for the needs of Special Forces soldiers who spend a career on their feet, all over the world, with heavy rucks on their backs. And for all adventurers who are looking to support their feet on long trips, journeys, and in their daily active lives. MACV-2™ is ready when you are.

FEATURES & SPECS

AGGRESSIVE TRIPLE COMPOUND OUTSOLE
Each section of the triple compound rubber outsole is designed to perform a specific function the best it possibly can. The forefoot rubber is formulated for increased grip with deep tread specifically shaped to grab the ground while shedding mud and debris. It wraps around the toes for additional protection against rocky terrain or when doing push-ups. The midfoot is formulated from a rock climbing compound and hardened for exceptional abrasion resistance — ideal for fast roping. The heel is more dense and formulated for extreme durability with an expanded heel strike area that won't break down over time or distance.

RUGGED MIDSOLE
The new MACV-2™ midsole design wraps around the entire upper providing significantly more stability and maximum support. Support you need for your feet so they’re not smoked after being on your feet all day, whatever you’re doing. Support is foundational to MACV-2™ and makes them versatile — great for combat, traveling, and for people who demand a lot of their feet. The relationship between the EVA midsole and the rubber outsole matters greatly to the performance of the boot - and the combined weight is a major factor in whether you want to wear them or not. At 17oz (34 oz/pair for 6"), MACV-2™ is still lighter than any footwear of its kind, even with the new aggressive outsole.

NO BREAK-IN TIME
They're ready when you are, right out of the box.

WIDE TOE BOX
Generous forefoot area lets your toes breathe. Over time and distance during any activity including rucking or traveling, your feet will swell. This extra space reduces the friction that can occur if your feet rub against the insides of your boot.

IDEAL RUCKING OFFSET
The ideal heel-to-toe drop for rucking. 13mm offset reduces the strain on your achilles (and by proxy your ankle, knees, and hips) and helps to accommodate a natural gait in an unnatural world of asphalt and man-made surfaces.

PROUDLY NOT WATERPROOF
If rain, sweat, streams, gets in a waterproof boot there is nowhere for it to go. Shielding drain holes are better than waterproof. They keep sand and debris out and repel moisture with every step. They expel water with old fashioned technology that just works - with every step, you push the water out the side of the boot.

NO SPACER MESH
Spacer mesh is soft, squishy, and feels comfortable to your hand when you touch it. But it’s a trap, literally. The first time spacer mesh looks at any kind of water, your boots get heavier and they stay that way. So we proudly do not use spacer mesh, end of story.

PREMIUM UPPER Specs + Materials
Hard wearing full-grain Challenge Leather™ that only gets better with time and use. Paired with 1000D CORDURA® and 2" nylon webbing for added ankle support - debris and rain stay out and your feet can still breathe.

ANKLE SUPPORT
Suitable for airborne operations and maintains stability and support on uneven ground. Here's how this works. The 2" webbing is sewn into the heel counter. When you lace your boots up with your ankle locked into the heel, the heel counter and the 2" webbing do not pull forward - this is by design. But as you tighten them down, this process locks your heel down and shifts the freedom of flex to the forefoot. Which is where it should be.

SUEDE + INJECTION MOLDED HEEL COUNTER
Premium suede wraps a supportive, injection molded plastic heel counter. This combo stabilizes your heel as the suede leather prevents the kind of friction that causes hotspots and blisters.

3MM SPEED LACES
Speed laces are 3mm as opposed to standard 5mm. Debris and mud doesn't collect on the 3mm laces like it does on the 5mm, the 3mm rinse off and dry faster, and they're faster to tie because there's less bulk.

DUAL DENSITY INSERT
Our custom insert uses a dual layered compression foam system that supports your entire foot from heel to toe - including contoured arch support for all 3 of your arches- throughout the duration of your foot strike.

  • Upper Specs + Materials: full-grain Challenge Leather™ & 1000D CORDURA®
  • Rugged, yet lightweight EVA midsole
  • Custom compression insert included
  • Triple compound rubber outsole
  • 13mm heel-to-toe drop

Great boot but

"I live these boots, they feel great and mold well to my feet. Especially with my high arches. The big issue I have with them is the durability of the skin. The toe part of the boot doesn’t just scuff when encountering rough terrain. They loose a chunk of material. I have to put a dab of glue on it to keep the missing skin burable."

— Spoden (3/5)

Comfortable, but has room for improvement

"For the price, boots are comfortable. However, even after breaking them in by soaking, followed by walking, rucking, and general wear they still wear blisters on the heels. Maybe it’s my heel shape, but I think the heel cup could be deeper/more forgiving. Would’ve returned, but return policy makes it hard to put them through a good test and still be eligible. Wish more boot companies were following what Goruck does by making non waterproof boots."

— Brian (2/5)

I wanted to love these…

"I wanted to love them, but they don’t fit my feet. Ordered my usual size and overall the boot feels on the loose side. The heel cup, however, pinches in on both sides. Hot spots and blisters forming after just a mile and a half. Seems like a fairly common issue with these boots. Disappointing after so much time looking into non-waterproof boots."

— D (2/5)

Completely wore out the first

"Completely wore out the first pair after 2 plus years. they're perfect for me, I can keep them shined up looking good for work campus environment but can leave them on and operate on the range. I'll probably buy another pair next month so I can rotate them. RLTW!!"

— Jason W. (5/5)

Comfort right out of the box

"Had them for two weeks nearly now. Been used as a duty boot and they are so comfortable. Hard to describe but they just feel natural. No hot spots and im on my feet all day. First day I wore them a 16 hour shift with the last 6 hours being a football game with bleachers, stairs and on my feet the entire time. Really enjoying these! If they last a year, they are well worth it. Wear a size 10.5 in Nike and that’s the size I went with. Perfect fit! Also ordered a pair of the mid socks. So far they are very nice as well. Great feel and no wet or stinking feet."

— Brad M. (5/5)

Can't live without.

"Pair number two for me after wearing the outsole off of the previous pair over the last two years. Wear them daily for work and they're the most comfortable and light weight boot to wear for 17+ hours a day. They hold up extremely well and wear great with thick or thin socks. Only gripe is the laces last about 6 months of heavy use and I would classify my usage as no less than heavy."

— Jackson S. (5/5)

Best boots ever

"I never write reviews, but I just received my second pair of these after 2. 5 years of wearing my old pair. After wearing them every day on flightline aprons as a mechanic, and through 2 deployments, they still have the original laces, and the soles never wore through. I’ve gone through many other brands a lot quicker, these were the first boots I ever bought a 2nd pair in a row of. I will always be a go-ruck supporter."

— Cade F. (5/5)

MacV-2 Boots

"This is my second pair and I completely enjoy them. The toe box is ample when the foot swells. I used my first pair through all different types of terrain. Asphalt, trail, beach, and water. They held up to their quality. Good purchase."

— crystal l. (5/5)

"Great boots , comfortable from out of the box , ordered these to have a 2nd pair . Ruck every Sunday 12-18 miles and never had any trouble , made it thru the 9-11 tough event and again they worked great !!"

— Augustus W. (5/5)

Macv2

"The boots are pretty good. I’ve had trouble with blistering on the inside of my heels my first couple trips, but I am breaking them in overall the quality is great on them. I feel like they are a pretty good boot."
