Joining the CIA in 2005, intending to teach languages, Emily McCarthy instead found herself stationed as a case officer in war-torn West Africa.
Her mission was essentially human: build trust, collect intelligence, protect lives. The greatest lesson she learned in the CIA is that people are always the mission.
That focus still drives her today while raising three kids to founding GORUCK to creating Spy Ruck.
