Poor Quality Control

"Received a GR 2 Heritage in field tan. The first one had bleed over from the leather handle onto the canvas. The second one looked like it had a cigarette burn on the front pocket. These high end bags should be physically inspected before going into the bag in Vietnam as well as before they leave the US warehouse to the customer. Highly disappointed. . I was able to keep the first bag sent the other back and recorded a full refund. Not what I expected from a brand like Goruck."

Absolutely in love with my

"Absolutely in love with my new GORUCK GR2! This is another proud addition to my GORUCK collection, and once again, the brand has exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship, durability, and attention to detail are second to none. Every GORUCK product I’ve owned has been built to last, and the GR2 is no exception. I never had any doubt it would be outstanding—and it absolutely is. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a backpack that will serve them for years to come!"

Decent so far

"Feels good. Solid. Zippers a bit too tight still on straight runs, but very slowly loosening with use. Unfortunately zippers also jam easily at corners due to zipper flap tightness. Hoping this improves w/use as well. Pouch zippers in smaller compartment tend to obstruct compartment zippers. Design has room to improve there. Greatly enjoy the capacity. This thing is cavernous compared to my previous EDC. Haven't abused it yet. We'll see."

The right backpack for me

"I have the GR1 21L and it is a great bag. I have used, quite literally, dozens of backpacks throughout the years. None of them have been as comfortable to carry as the GR1. The only downside is that the GR1 is too small for me to use as a daily since I tend to carry a lot of stuff. After years of wondering, I finally pulled the trigger on the GR2 34L. It is the perfect daily bag for me. Big enough for me to carry all my stuff, but not so big that it gets in the way everywhere you go. Even with a bulky and/or heavy load, it is comfortable to carry all day long. One downside would be that it is heavier than other bags of this size, but I imagine that would be because the GR2 is built for durability rather than lightness. The other negative would have to be the price. This is an expensive bag, no denying it. But I have had the GR1 for over ten years (I have abused the heck out of that bag) and despite a little discoloration, it is as solid and dependable as a bag can be. If the GR2 lasts ten years - and I believe it will - it will have been an excellent purchase."

Wait A Minute - Time Will Tell

"Hello, How about waiting a bit longer before asking about how I'd rate my GR2. I say this because while I bought a GR2 (and I've purchased a second one for my wife as well), we will be traveling the UK and living out of our GR2s for six months in 2027. And between now and then, we will use our GR2s on short trips around the US utilizing the same "carry what you need on your back" approach. Give us a year to really work with our rucks, and then ask us what we think. I would even be willing to throw in a photograph or two of us and our GR2 in the Shetland or Orkney Islands. Let me know. Thanks, John Simpson"

saved me 75 bucks!

"super high quality and durability; great for flight needed with only personal Item, otherwise they were going to charge me for a Carryon. 26L GR2 gave me the confidence to travel with style, durability, comfort and organization. For flights that allow a carryon, the 40L is a great fit for me too--I love them both."

"I thought there would be something to clip a water bladder to in the laptop compartment. I also thought the back and undersides of the straps would be the softer material similar to my Rucker 5. 0s."

Most amazing pack

"I was hesitant about this backpack. It is not cheap but I wanted quality and something that would stand up to repeated use. I could not recommend this more - I use it as a daily ruk, while not fully the intended use it works great. It has been beat up, sweat through countless times, left outside, seen the fun more than it should and has not shown any wear or tear at all. On top of this, after washing it, I use this for my travel bag. It offers numerous pockets for organizing. If you are on the fence about this pack, buy it. You will love it. It will stand r test of time that others promise but this ac to ally delivers."

I'd been wanting a GR2

"I'd been wanting a GR2 ever since I first got my GR1 and found that I needed more space/organization. I moved all my stuff over and started using it as my EDC bag almost immediately after I got it. Since then it's held up extremely well, and I suspect that this is going to last me for the rest of my life."

Joshua M. (5/5)

"Does NOT fit an 18” laptop in the intended pocket despite the listed measurements of the laptop pocket: ”Laptop Compartment: 12"W × 18. 5"H” Laptop does fit in the main compartment, but its suboptimal."
