THE GORUCK SPEARHEAD

“The GORUCK Tough patch is not for sale. It takes inspiration from the First Special Service Force’s spearhead, and the only way to earn it is to pass the GORUCK Challenge.

The Force was a joint Canadian-American commando unit formed in 1942. ‘The name ‘First Special Service Force’ was selected to cover an assault force whose handful of men would carry considerable automatic-fire power. It sounded innocent enough…’ However, the Force earned the nickname Devil’s Brigade for its devastation of Axis powers in WWII. Though its history is a short one, modern day Canadian and American special operations trace their heritage to this unit.”

Jason McCarthy, 10th Special Forces Group, 2006-08

3x support = 3x stability

you need more support

Barbells. Sandbags. Sprinting. Rucking. Up-down-left-right-lift-toss … rinse and repeat.

To push past your limits in garages and driveways and in fields and on asphalt the world over — you need a stable platform, and you need more support from your fitness & weight training shoes.

When you run, you need support. When you lift, you need support. When you flex, you need support.

the ballistic breakdown

it's science.

To build the Ballistic Trainers™, we took everything that works (and nothing that doesn't) about existing functional fitness shoes and combined it with proven science of proper under foot support.

UPPER // Dual Material Construction
(1) Breathable + Flexible Knit
(2) Tough Ballistic Nylon

MIDSOLE // Gradient Density™ EVA
(3) Flexible + Cushioned Forefoot
(4) Firm + Stable Heel

OUTSOLE // Triple Compound Rubber
(5) Grippy, High-Traction Forefoot
(6) Hardened Midfoot
(7) Dense, Durable Heel

BREATHABLE KNIT + BALLISTIC NYLON

Seamless, one-piece engineered warp knit covers the entire forefoot giving you plenty of breathability and flexibility without cramping your toes. The lace area, midfoot and heel is built from two panels of Special Forces grade Ballistic nylon offering ballistic protection with additional structure and stability in the midfoot and heel.

Flexible + cushioned forefoot

The forefoot area is resilient and flexible, providing excellent cushioning and rebound from strike to recovery when running, jumping or performing other explosive movements.

firm + stable heel

The firm heel keeps you grounded on a stable platform when lifting or squatting and the 8mm lift maintains your center of gravity for a versatile mechanical advantage.

Grippy, high-traction forefoot

The forefoot rubber is formulated for increased grip in any environment — wet and dry, inside or out.

hardened midfoot for rope climbs

The midfoot rubber is formulated from a rock climbing compound for the best abrasion resistance and long term durability — ideal for rope climbs.

dense, durable heel for pavement pounding

The rubber in the heel is dense, tough and won't wear down after miles of running or rucking.

Reviews

I was missing out! Great find

"I am really happy with these shoes. Somehow, I never knew they existed, but I'm glad I know now. I wanted a trainer for weight-training days, but not something too specific, since I don't lift very heavy. I often do bodyweight or a mix of bodyweight and other exercises. These are great all-around shoes so far. They feel durable, fit right, and have good support."

Michele F. (5/5)

Stable and versatile!

"Love these trainers - this is my 3rd pair. I use for rucking, CrossFit and strength training. They provide enough stability for squatting moderate weight, while being versatile enough for the 2x1 mile Murph runs. They also look good for casual wear with some Simple lightweight or mid-weight Toughdry pants."

Scott K. (5/5)

Good trainers but laces need work

"The shoe itself is very well built but for some reason those laces always moves from one side to the other side. This is a bit irritating as it has to be adjusted all the time. I’ve owned these before and they do last much longer than other brand trainers. I also like how they mold to your feet as you use them."

Carl C. (4/5)

Durable, Versatile and Comfrotable

"Used these as my primary pair of shoes while underway during my time on a submarine. They stood up to being used for 16+ hour days and still held up as my go to training shoes. After 2 years they're still going strong which is usually a problem with my large and wide feet (Typically wear a 14 wide). Most shoes squeeze them and end up busting at the seems but I'm still wearing these as my primary training footwear."

Quincey P. (5/5)

Great shoes, shame about the customer service.

"Firstly, the shoes are excellent apart from the label on the tongue fraying but that has absolutely no effect on the rest of the quality of the shoe. Great balance of stability and cushioning for running or lifting. I had an issue with the sizing and the correspondence was pretty blunt, didn't apologise for their error and they didn't seem interested in ensuring I had a positive experience with the product. Personally, I think customer service is an important part of the whole buying experience and this has put me off the band somewhat."

Gordon E. (3/5)

"Best shoes ever for weight training. Wide toe box, narrow heel, grippy sole, attractive. Love this shoe. Sorry they sell out of their other styles because i would buy them."

Shawna (5/5)

Solid feel, comfortable

"Solid build. Really happy with the wider than typical toe box and forefoot in general. Still feels good through the heel with no slip."

brooke s. (5/5)

Tuff enouff

"Been logging 15k steps a day walking around Japan and so far so good. Sole looks brand new after a couple weeks. Also performed well for tennis."

Grant H. (5/5)

Great sneakers

"The fit is perfect, following recomendations for a larger size. At the beginning I did strange the tight fit, but after a breakdown period they are Great. Recomended"

LUIS V. (5/5)

The shoes look good. Fit

"The shoes look good. Fit well and are comfortable. I have a small foot so finding comfortable shoes as a man can be challenging. Looking forward to putting these shoes through their paces."
