Can I use the Basic Rucker® as a regular everyday backpack?
Absolutely. It’s designed to be a durable, do-everything backpack. Use it for work, gym, travel, errands, or outdoor adventures—with or without the training weight.

Rucking is proven to burn fat, build muscle, strengthen bones, and improve posture. Humans specifically evolved to carry heavy things. You are quite literally designed for it (and the benefits reflect that).
Hydration Ready
The Basic Rucker® features an elastic side pocket designed to fit slim water bottles. On longer rucks, you can clip your hydration bladder to the internal D-ring and use the hydration port for extra water, meaning you can go farther and recover better.
Ruck Plate® Compatible
Comfortably carry a standard-length 10, 20, or 30lb Ruck Plate® (or a 20+10), as well as any other gear, water, or layers you may need on your ruck. The weight sits high and tight on your back, which is important as you increase your distance and load as you get stronger.

COMFORTABLE SHOULDER STRAPS
Our proprietary, dual density foam is built to keep your shoulders and back feeling good under short and long rucks, for years to come. The MOLLE webbing allows you to customize with a sternum strap, phone pouch, or other accessories of your choice.
Reflective Strip for Visibility
It can be hard enough finding the time to work out, don’t be limited by the daylight hours. The Basic Rucker features a 2” reflective strip for safe rucking in low-light conditions.
Easy-Access
Two side pockets on the Basic Rucker mean you can reach your stuff faster. One elastic pocket for a water bottle, and a sheath pocket for your phone, wallet, or snacks.
PROVEN MATERIALS
Ripstop ROBIC® is lightweight and water resistant while remaining tough as nails. Next to your skin on the underside of the straps and on the back panel, we use 210D CORDURA®, the same proven fabric from our Rucker 4.0 that does not irritate the skin when worn shirtless or with just a bra on.
20MM RAISED LUMBAR SUPPORT
Who knew what a difference a little raised padding could make. But it does! This is the same feature on our proven Rucker 4.0. It helps contour to your spine and provides additional comfort to your tailbone or lower back. Feeling is believing on this one, whether at mile 1 or mile 100.
