Rucking has been around for over two million years. Our bodies evolved to efficiently carry weight back to the tribe, high and tight on our backs. Two thousand years ago, Roman Legionnaires used rucking as a test to select their best soldiers, a practice that continues with today’s Special Forces. And the body remains as da Vinci drew it, elegant in its creation and refined to ruck weight over time and distance, on our backs. This is the life we choose.
The Rucker® 5.0 supports for your spine’s natural curvature while you’re out crushing calories, building strength, and saving your joints one step at a time — and it retains the fit and feel that is as timeless and natural as the human body.
The Rucker is the greatest and most comfortable rucksack ever built. Though many imitators exist now, it has no equal. The only thing tougher and more elegant than the Rucker is the person using it, and that means you.
NEW FOR 5.0:
Lumbar Support: A “damn that’s big” foam pad designed for maximum lumbar and lower back support.
Magnetic Internal Pockets: Upgraded internal storage with silent, snag-free magnetic closures for quick and secure access that will not get crushed like zippers and function way better than VELCRO.

Great investment!
"I purchased a coyote 25L Rucker 4. 0 and my wife chose a black 15L Rucker 4. 0. Both fit us perfectly (I’m 6’3 athletic build and she’s 5’3 petite) and they look great! Durability is top notch, and with the SCARS warranty, I feel at ease using these rucks as intended. If you’re new to rucking or just looking for a better solution to throwing dumbbells in an old backpack, look no further—this is your ruck! P. S. I used this in tandem with my GR2 40L while traveling/flying. My 25L Rucker 4. 0 worked great as a personal item, and my GR2 40L was a fantastic carry-on. No complaints from the airlines and I was able to secure my MacBook and iPad Pro in the two plate compartments."

Best backpack I have ever owned.
"This backpack is comfortable and durable in the right places. I can see a lot of thought put into what is added and what is taken out of conventional designs. The cost is justified in my mind because lots of reinforcement is needed to securely mount weights and to withstand the swaying in rucking. The simplified pocket design are also appreciated as someone who has a hard time finding what I need in a backpack. This is my old backpack that was falling part under 30 lbs. and this is my new ruck."

I love this Ruck! Since
"I love this Ruck! Since I've had to return to the office, training for an Ultra Marathon has been a bit of a challenge, but on my "in-office" days, I use this ruck for either a long walk at lunch or I do up/down 14 floor stairs. Either way, it has helped to strengthen my hips and ankles. My only complaint is since I'm pretty flat chested, I have to use the ruck with an over-the-shoulder weight vest for it to fit comfortably. Without it, it hangs off too low. I wish the strap could tighten better."

Outstanding
"For years, I would literally use duct tape to wrap around my waist to prevent back abrasions from the friction caused by the bag swinging. Even after 6 miles, it would wear off. This ruck is so smooth and padded—I get none of that with my GoRuck bag. Huge 5 stars from me. Keep on GoRucking."

Great updated on the 4. 0
"Great upgrade from the 4. 0. I've had the 5. 0 for a few weeks and put in a ton of mileage. The increased pad size is worth the upgrade, in my opinion, for 45 lb plus rucks. You can tell it's there and it feels great with lighter rucks, but with the 4. 0, 45 lb and more would get uncomfortable. There were more changes to the backpack outside of what the video talks about. • The material of the bag has changed to a less stiff, more "broken in" feel. I hope it is still as durable as the 4. 0 material. • There is Velcro in the large and small plate compartments, which is welcomed. If you put a 30 lb plate in the big pocket, you cannot Velcro it closed, but it also doesn't bounce around."

Rucker 5. 0 Initial Review
"I bought a Rucker 5. 0 to replace my earlier Rucker version. I made the change based on the advertised larger lumbar bad that helps support the lower back. Now that I've used the Rucker 5. 0 and compared it to the former Rucker, I agree that the enlarged lumbar pad makes it more comfortable to carry the load. Although trivial, I'll admit I prefer the Velcro closures on the older Rucker to the new, magnetic closures on the 5. 0 version. I'm rating the quality and other aspects on less than a few weeks of actual use. Time will tell."

Great Pack!
"Incredible pack that holds the weight even & level. The straps fit perfectly with zero chaffing -- awesome padding. I'm 6'2" and debated 25L vs 20L -- glad I went with 25L, it doesn't rub on the waist. Can't wait to see the progress I make this summer!"
— Scott D. (5/5)
Thank you.
"The pack is super high quality and places the weight in exactly the right spot. I’ve never experienced anything like rucking before and it feels like it’s going to be transformative. I feel super alive focused and tuned in walking through the woods carrying heavy weight on my back. It feels primitive and instinctive. I’m not doing it justice but I would just strongly recommend trying it out. I really appreciate the time effort and ingenuity that went into making my pack. It travels with me in my truck everywhere I go now."
— Andy A. (5/5)
Rucker 4. 0
"Nice sturdy backpack. Once closed the pack holds solid, no slack anywhere. I did use sandbags from my brute force trainer bag. Barely fit. Pockets on the inside dont allow much room for weights other then the metal plates."
— Tyler S. (4/5)
5. 0 STARS
"After putting the Rucker 5. 0 through its paces, it's earned a permanent place in my rotation. The build quality is immediately apparent — this is a pack that's been engineered rather than just assembled. Stitching, hardware, and materials all reflect a level of craft that's genuinely rare at any price point. Functionally, it simply works. It does everything you ask of it without complaint, without fuss, and without making you think about the bag at all — which is exactly what a great pack should do. You carry what you need, it carries the load, and everything holds up. For anyone who values quality and wants a pack that won't let them down, the Rucker 5. 0 delivers without compromise."
