We cut a hole in our plates to take the weight off your diaphragm, improving breathing during tough workouts and recovery between sets. The cutout, as well as the contoured design, also makes the vest a whole lot more comfortable.
We build our vests with rucksack-style straps, because thin, unpadded straps digging into your shoulders is painful and unnecessary. Meanwhile, the swimmer’s cut and lowered neckline of the plates add freedom of movement and range of motion to create the best weight vest for the most dynamic exercises. Large had too much movement/bounce with 30# and straps were awkwardly rubbing shoulders so returned it also. "Seemed to be decent quality. I wear an XL in some shirts and L in others. I couldn't come close to fitting this on me. If you are slightly barrel chested, this thing is tiny. I'm a bit shocked they called it L/XL because this seems more like a small medium in terms of a t-shirt. If they ever make a better design or longer straps, I'd probably get it again."

I ended up exchanging for the L/XL and am very happy. The vest itself as a lot of range for the waist but the shoulder straps are not adjustable, too short on the S/M, so my advice would be L/XL for any size man."
"Feels comfortable when running, not a lot of bouncing around. Doesnt move much during other body weight movements (burpees, box step overs, push-ups, etc. . . ). Doesnt get in they way when doing other movements i've tried like farmers carries or kb swings. Not being able to adjust the shoulder straps would be my only minor complaint. I'd like the carrier to ride about a 1/2 inch lower. Very happy overall."
"I have purchased enough GORUCK equipment that I consider myself a modern McCarthyite, and I can honestly report that over the past few years that rucking has healed me. But the L/XL Rucking Weight Vest is small. I am a gym goer, and as I was first putting the vest over my head I could tell that this was going to be too small for me. The Velcro cummerbund straps did not even touch the front plate carrier. I’m 6’2”, 235 pounds with a 49” chest. The return process was effortless, but I am still disappointed that I was not able to add this to my daily GORUCK gear rotation."
