A SPECIAL FORCES RUCKING CHALLENGE
Rucking is the foundation of Special Forces training and the Star Course is the culminating exercise of Special Forces Selection. Your ruck’s on your back, you're given your waypoints, and you have to meet the time standard if you want to pass. Go! says the Cadre — you plan your route and then you're off. There are no push-ups or smoke sessions, that’s not this event. It's just you, your rucksack, your team and the miles. And it’s not to be underestimated.
The GORUCK Star Course honors our roots in Special Forces and adds a team dynamic so you can share the experience together (also a common thing in SF). Those who successfully pass will earn the Star Course patch. It will never be for sale.
3 DISTANCES, 25+ CITIES
CHOOSE YOUR DISTANCE, CHOOSE YOUR TEAMMATES, AND RUCK HARD.
HOW IT WORKS
This is not like a GORUCK Challenge and it’s not a boring, individual running event. You and your team of 2-5 (including you) show up at the Start Point. A GORUCK Cadre will issue you a map and a list of waypoints. The route you and your team choose will be your own, so choose wisely. You can expect to see the best sites in your city, and you can expect at least one long movement taking you to the outskirts, and possibly beyond.
WHAT ABOUT THE SPECIAL FORCES CADRE? No push-ups, no PT (physical training), this is a rucking event. Nothing more, nothing less. You’ll see your Cadre at the beginning, maybe somewhere along your route, and at the end. The Cadre and back-end support ensure that you make it to all your waypoints because you’ll upload a picture at each to Instagram. When it’s over, you and your team will have a nice photo essay from visiting the best spots in your town.
